The Undocumented Day is a short film, directed by Larry Cheuk and produced by James Blaisedell, Angela Williams, & Lilia Williams-Cheuk.
The Undocumented Day centers on the promising life of a young Mexican American teenager named Mayeli who decides to attend one of the top basketball camps in the country. After mustering the courage to ask for her father’s consent, she discovers in the course of a day, her world is suddenly turn upside down and she must confront the harsh reality of her father’s undocumented status.
An article about the films production process was highlighted in Culture Strike Magazine. The film also premiered at the Athens Ohio International Film Festival in 2013.
